About Kevin

Kevin comes to photography through the stage door of a the theatre. In 1990 having spent many years in his native Toronto as an actor, he landed a dream gig appearing on Broadway. Not a bad way to make an entrance into The Big Apple. Being in a city like New York, his passion for his hobby in photography soared. Soon he was shooting headshots for fellow actors, CD covers for musicians and portfolios for models. Now years later he now has a thriving 1800 square foot studio just off of 5th Ave in Manhattan shooting a wide range of projects.

One of Kevin's strongest quality is his way with people. His playful, whimsical character comes out in the people he shoots. Few people "like" having their picture taken. On your wedding day it really helps to have someone behind the lens that makes it fun and has that fun show through in the final product.

The digital age has taken wedding photography from one of the more mundane forms of photography to one of the most vibrant, creative and exciting. The manipulation of images in Photoshop and the introduction of flush mount albums featuring multi-image collages have taken wedding photography to unimaginable heights. Kevin has embraced all that's new and possible. Constantly stretching, thinking and dreaming of what could be done to make your wedding album a true piece of art he while capturing the moods and feelings and essence of the day to be relived every time you open the book.

About photographer Sarah

Sarah has focused on photography since her childhood. Her father, a professional photographer, tutored her on their longs hikes through the Adirondack mountains. Landscapes, nature and reflections of private, intimate moments dominate her earlier work. In 1989 Sarah moved to New York City where she studied dance and worked as a graphic designer. Photographing dancers in the studio and at live events was a natural addition to her life. Meeting with Kevin Fox turned her head to love: she joined her dream man to form a dream team of wedding photographers!

Sarah still enjoys focusing on the details of intimate moments. She minored in Art history in college and her sense of design comes through in every photo she takes.

"Dear Kevin and Sarah:
Now and forever, the memories of our happiest day will remain in sharp focus thanks to your expert photography. Thank you for the beautiful pictures you took at our wedding on August 10, 2003 at Café On The Green in Bayside, Queens. You were ubiquitous but unobtrusive as you captured all the various moods of the afternoon, with no one cliché shot. Your vibrant color and composition brought to life both the solemnity of our wedding ceremony and the merriment of the reception. We especially applaud your ingenious idea of shooting everything a second time in black and white, side by side with the color shots. This captured our wedding in a photojournalistic way, and it's fun to compare your two different "takes" on the same event. How fortunate we were to find New York City photographers who are not only talented and resourceful, but reasonably priced as well. If only all our wedding choices had been that easy. We look forward to recommending you to our friends. Thanks again for an exquisite job!

Sincerely,
Leni and Scott Wilson"

“I had my first photo shoot with Sarah Skinner in January of 2004. It was my first photo shoot ever and I was very nervous about having my pictures taken. I had met Sarah previously but did not know her very well. Right away she put me at ease and made me feel at home. The shoot was grueling: it was hot under the lights and I had to keep applying face powder to cover up my perspiration, but Sarah was patient and kept encouraging me. I’m one of those people who loves to perform, but I hate watching myself in videos or photographs, so I wasn’t expecting to like the photos. To my surprise, I had a difficult time choosing only 6 pictures, because there were several I loved. Sarah has a knack for catching beautiful moments of movement - especially with veil. As a dancer, she understands the dance and knows what to look for and how to capture it on film. I have gotten many compliments on my pictures and I look forward to doing another shoot with Sarah sometime as! I was so very pleased with the initial results. Thanks Sarah!”
